A ceremony will take place to honor the lives of those who were buried on the site of the UB South Campus off of Main St in Buffalo.

When the campus was built, there were nearly 400 bodies that had to be exhumed to begin excavation and construction. The 372 men, women and children died more than 100 years ago and were buried in unmarked graves where the county poorhouse was. The remains were exhumed five years ago by researchers. They will be reburied in eight caskets at the Assumption Cemetery on Grand Island.
