It's been a long time coming, and now, UB is finally getting a new feature that will enhance the fans' experience.

UB became a Division 1-A team in 1999.  Since that time, they've only replaced the scoreboard at UB Stadium once. The first one was installed in 1993. The next one was installed 14 years later in 2007. It was a simple 21X21 video board screen.

To put that into perspective, the Sabres newest jumbotron is 27 feet tall and 43 feet wide. The Bills' current video boards are each around 33 feet tall by 60 feet wide, and the new ones at the new stadium will probably be even bigger than that.

UB has decided to upgrade their gameday experience starting with their video boards

In a conversation recently, UB Vice President and Director of Athletics Mark Alnutt says that work is beginning on the boards now.

He described the boards as being dynamic HD boards that are 3-4 times bigger than what they currently have. As far as a timeline, he said that it will be coming in August so it should be ready to go for the upcoming 2025-2026 season.

The Bulls are coming off a strong year

The 2024-2025 season was a good one for UB.  They finished with a 9-4 record and went 6-2 in the MAC.  Their final game was a bowl game that they won 26-7 over Liberty.  That was just Coach Pete Lembo's first season.  We can't wait to see what he's able to accomplish as he becomes more comfortable in Buffalo.
