An American team has won the Little League World Series for the first time in five years.  Maine-Endwell from near Binghamton, NY held on to beat South Korea 2-1 in Sunday's championship game in Williamsport, Pa.

In a pitcher's duel, Maine-Endwell managed only three hits, but all of them came in a two-run fourth inning and that's all they needed.

It's the first time in 52 years that a team from New York won the world title.  It's also just the third time in tournament history that a New York team won it.  In 1964 Staten Island was the winner.  A team from Schenectady won it in 1953.

A crowd estimated at 34,000 was on hand to see Sunday's game at Howard J. Lamade Stadium in Williamsport.
