Back to Normal at Six Flags Darien Lake: Big Changes Made Today
Summer doesn't officially start until next week, but for many across Western New York, summer has basically begun and one of the most fun activities to do every summer is taking a trip to Six Flags Darien Lake.
If you remember last year, Six Flags made the decision to require guests to make reservations to enjoy the theme parks; along with social distancing guidelines and temperature checks. Darien Lake never opened last year due to restrictions in New York State but those were the protocols this year, until now.
According to WIVB, Six Flags Darien Lake has dropped the requirement for reservations, temperature checks, and social distancing, effective immediately.
That means guests can arrive and buy tickets at the theme park and no longer will be required to wear masks if they're fully vaccinated. Guests and employees who are not fully vaccinated should still wear masks and practice social distancing.
If you plan on going to Six Flags Darien Lake this year, however, just keep in mind that the famous Ferris Wheel called "The Giant Wheel" is not open to the public this summer and there's uncertainty when the Giant Wheel will be back open again, if at all.

I haven't been to Six Flags Darien Lake since September of 2019 (for the Rascal Flatts concert), so I can't wait to get back and enjoy the Ride of Steel again!
