The Best Way To Close A Pool In Western New York
The time has come. Fall is here, and although the weather is nice, the chilly weather will be here soon. Now is the time to get that pool closed.
If you've ever waited too long to close your pool, you know how miserable it can be. You leave it open because the weather is nice, but then, like a switch, it gets cold. One day the temperatures are in the 80s, and the next they're in the 60s, and that water gets super cold. Then you're struggling to unhook all those hoses that you cranked down in the spring, and trying to move your filter so that it doesn't freeze and crack in the cold Buffalo winter.
Closing a pool isn't fun. It means that summer fun is over and the cold, grey winter is coming soon.
This year, though, I decided it was time to finally close my pool for good. We've had it since we moved in and we've loved it. It was as much work as people warn you about when you get a pool (and maybe some days a little more), but it was great to have on those hot summer days. It had finally gotten to a point, though, that I was getting worried it was going to rust through at the bottom and the water would come gushing into my basement.
It had to go.
This is the best time I've ever had closing that pool though. I drained the water, removed the liner, took the top rail off, and then yanked it out with the tractor. It was quick, and easy, and it could quite possibly be the best way to close the pool.
