The Amherst Soccer Association says they've been forced to cancel this weekend's AIM Cup Tournament because the fields are unplayable due to the wet spring.  A message on the Association's website says "for the safety of all involved, we had to cancel."

The annual tournament is played at the soccer complex on North French Road next to the I-990 on ramp.  The event typically draws hundreds of players and their families and the cancellation will mean thousands of dollars in lost revenue for the Association.

14 boys divisions and 12 girls divisions were expected to participate and within each division were a number of teams.  Fees ranged from $375 to $475 per team to participate and all of those fees will be refunded.
