It's that time of year when people start getting out their playoff calculators to determine who will play who for week 1 of the NFL Playoffs.  Here's how it will look...

The Buffalo Bills punched their ticket into the playoffs weeks ago by winning the AFC East handily.  As a Bills fan, I can say that it's been kind of nice not having to depend on another team losing or winning to get us in for the last couple of years.  But it does kind of make you worry less about who else might be in there.

Some teams get dangerous right around playoff time.  We thought that was the Bills last year.  They started off kind of rough, but then won out at the end of the year and came in hot.  Who are those teams this year?  Who will the Bills end up playing in two weeks?  If you watch games these days, you'll hear teams' names being mentioned that you haven't heard in a while.  Teams like the Dolphins and the Bengals are still (somehow) "In The Hunt" as they used to say.

So how will you know who to cheer for?  There's a great chart that Everything Buffalo (that they credited to @ScooterJohnny) posted that breaks it all down for you.

It looks a little confusing but if you take it line by line it makes a little more sense.  There are three games to really watch this weekend.  The Broncos are playing the Chiefs.  The Dolphins are playing the Jets.  The Bengals are playing the Steelers.  If you look at the first line, if the Broncos, Dolphins, and Bengals all win, the Bills will end up playing the Broncos.  However, if the Chiefs, Dolphins, and Bengals all win, the Bills will get the Dolphins.

The question is always, "who would you prefer to have the Bills face?" and my answer is always the same.  It doesn't matter.  Once you get to the playoffs, anyone can win.  You have to beat the best to be the best.  Either way, whoever we face is coming here to Buffalo.  But this is a really good map to help you figure it out as the games go on.
