Blake Shelton's girlfriend Gwen Stefani didn't say he would be a good dad in a new interview. The pop star and The Voice coach says he is a good dad.

The couple don't have have kids together, but Stefani has three boys with ex-husband Gavin Rossdale. Talking to the Today Show, she shares that the "God's Country" singer steps in whenever he's called upon.

"He is a good dad, actually," she says, responding to host Hoda Kotb's question about whether he would hypothetically be a good father. "He’s been helping me out a lot. I literally get to the point where I’m like, 'You gotta get home, I need help.'"

Remember When Blake Shelton Got Dumped? (Kinda)

Stefani's three boys are 13, 11 and 5 years old — that's a handful for her, she concedes, and she's grateful for her 43-year-old boyfriend's support. They've been together for four years, and it doesn't sound like the magic has fluttered away. Kotb's long-running crush on Shelton comes up during the interview, and the pop singer is more than understanding.

“I actually am so obsessed with Blake Shelton that I went back and watched old interviews between you guys because I’m so fascinated he was alive back then,” Stefani says, holding Kotb's hands compassionately. The 49-year-old from southern California never thought she'd be dating someone like Shelton.

"I just never thought in my wildest dreams, on paper, a cowboy and a ska-like girl from Anaheim would be hanging out," she gushes, "but it works perfect and we're just having so much fun and we just feel so blessed to be at this point in our lives."

Season 17 of The Voice on NBC begins Monday night (Sept. 23) at 8PM CT. Stefani returns for the first time since Season 12 in 2017. It will be her fourth season overall. John Legend and Kelly Clarkson also return as coaches for the reality show. Shelton and host Carson Daly are the only stars who've been on for all 17 seasons now that Adam Levine is gone.

Blake Shelton tickets are still available to all of his shows still slated for 2019.
