The Buffalo Catholic Diocese will celebrate its third annual Blue Mass at 10:30 am this Sunday, October 8th at St. Joseph's Cathedral, 50 Franklin Street, downtown.  The Mass will honor all local police officers, firefighters and EMS workers of all faiths along with their families and friends.

Bishop Richard Malone will lead the Mass and bestow his blessings on all first responders for their service to the community.

An honor guard of firefighters, police, sheriff and state police will carry flags representing the city, county, state, the nation and the church.  State Troopers and Sheriff's deputies will serve as lectors while members of the Sheriff's Department Mounted Division will stand guard outside the church.

The Greater Buffalo Firefighters Pipe and Drums will perform processional and recessional songs while Cathedral organist Tim Socha will provide music during the Mass.

Bishop Malone welcomes everyone from all counties, paid and volunteer first responders and their families to attend this special Mass.
