As we head towards the end of 2023, it's time to relax and enjoy time with family and friends.

With many people off for the next week or two, people will be venturing out for dinners at chain restaurants. That's especially true if you have gift cards for Christmas gifts that you want to use.

New York State is one of the best states for food in the country. Most of those are locally-owned places, but there are plenty of chains like McDonald's, Wendy's, Burger King, KFC, Denny's, Applebee's and Chili's.

New York still does not have quite a few chains, however. Just recently, New York City got its first Raising Cane's location and the hope is that Raising Cane's will expand to more locations across the state.

There's another famous fast food chain that has major plans to add New York State locations, which should start in 2024 and beyond.

In 2023, Bojangles announced major expansion plans, which include new locations in states such as Texas, Mississippi, Maryland, Tennessee and New York.

Bojangles was founded in North Carolina back in 1977. They have over 800 locations around the United States, mostly in the southeast. They're known for breakfast and chicken, with biscuit sandwiches and fries chicken the most popular orders.

It's still unclear where exactly Bojangles wants to expand to in New York, but chances are New York City would be a start, with hopefully more in other cities. Raising Cane's and Bojangles, two southern-based fast food chains, are making it a point to expand to the northeast.

We should see more and more locations from both in the next several years.
