Love going out for a drink or two, but hate the atmosphere at just about every bar you go to? If you're looking for something a little more laid back, you might love this bookstore that doubles as a bar in Clarence, NY.
BestCellar Book Bar is open in Clarence
I'll admit, this place isn't going to be everybody's cup of tea, but the people who are into it are going to love it.
Last weekend, my wife and I stopped out at a place that we'd heard of but hadn't ever visited before. We both love to read, so this was right up our alley. It's called BestCellar Book Bar, and it's exactly what it sounds like. It's a bookstore that doubles as a bar. With tons of books for you to buy in just about every genre. They've got a full bar with some light food too (which was delicious).
The vibe is perfect for date night
Looking for a place where you can go to get a little something to eat and a little something to drink while you can still talk to each other? This was it. We kept commenting on how much we loved the vibe. It was very laid back, and even though we were surrounded by books, it didn't feel like a library where you couldn't just talk.
They've got some comfortable couches around the outside if you bring a group of friends, or they have some little tables in the back in case you come by yourself and want a little more quiet with your drink.
There's even a room in the back that you can reserve to have a small get together with some friends.
BestCellar Book Bar is a woman-owned family business
One of the coolest things we learned while we were there was that the bar is owned by a woman named Devon (who also came up with the menu and recipes) and her father Pete.
