Buffalo Will Now Host The AFC Championship Next Week If Bills Win
The Buffalo Bills are less than 24 hours away from playing in Arrowhead Stadium against the Kansas City Chiefs. It will be a rematch of last year's AFC title game, when the Chiefs beat the Bills, 38-24.
This time, the Bills will play the Chiefs on the road in the AFC Divisional Round, but the stakes are just as high for the Bills and Buffalo. That's partly in due to what took place on Saturday evening.
The 4 seed Cincinnati Bengals defeated the 1 seed Tennessee Titans by a score of 19-16, in an upset that sends the Bengals to their first AFC Championship game appearance since 1988.
This means that if the Bills beat the Chiefs tomorrow night, they will host the AFC Championship game in Orchard Park at Highmark Stadium.
I can't even imagine what the scene would be for an AFC title game in Orchard Park. It would be the first one in nearly 30 years and the fact it would be against a team that has experienced plenty of their own heartbreak over the last few decades (the Bengals) would make it even more surreal.
First thing's first -- the Bills have to get past their AFC arch nemesis, the Kansas City Chiefs tomorrow night at Arrowhead Stadium. Kickoff will be at 6:30 pm.
The Bills are going in expecting everyone to be ready to play, and this matchup will feature the two most talented quarterbacks in the NFL (Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes).
Whoever wins, advances to the AFC title game and hosts it against the Bengals.
