Former Bills Linebacker (And WNY Native) Announcing Bills’ Draft Pick
The NFL Draft is coming up a week from today. Every year, the NFL gets some help from some special guests to announce teams' draft picks. This year, the Bills will have a former standout linebacker to help with the duties.
Shane Conlan Will Announce A Draft Pick For The Bills
Longtime Bills fans will remember the name Shane Conlan. Before Matt Milano made the number 58 his own, it belonged to Conlan. He was a linebacker for the Bills from 1987-1992. He was part of that incredibly tough Bills' defense that helped bring them to the Super Bowl. He was on three of those Super Bowl teams. He ended up leaving the Bills to go to the Rams before the fourth.
Before playing for the Bills, though, he was a Western New York native. He's probably one of the most famous athletes to ever play for the Frewsberg Bears. He was the Western New York high school player of the year in 1981. He's also a member of the Chautauqua Sports Hall of Fame and the Greater Buffalo Sports Hall of Fame.
He will be announcing one of the Bills' picks on day 2 of the draft in round 2 or 3.
Other big names who have announced picks for the Bills
In the past, there have been some big names who have announced picks. Mostly former players like Fred Jackson, Andre Reed, Bruce Smith, and more. But there have also been names like Kyle Brandt, Bills Superfan Ezra Castro (also known as Pancho Billa), and last year, it was Make-A-Wish recipient, Tommy Parzymieso.
Other former Bills players will be announcing picks too. Look for Shawne Merriman to announce a pick for the Chargers, and Paul Posuszny to announce one for the Jaguars.
The NFL Draft will begin from Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh, next Thursday, April 23rd and run through the 25th.
