Former Buffalo Bills' wide receiver Gabriel Davis just became available again. Hear me out.  Should the Bills try to get him back?

Last year, the Buffalo Bills lost a huge part of their receiving corps when Stefon Diggs was traded to the Houston Texans, and their #2 wide receiver, Gabe Davis, left to get more money with the Jacksonville Jaguars in free agency.  Bills fans were losing their minds thinking that the Bills were going through a rebuild year.

The Bills still went on to be the second-highest scoring offense in the NFL.  Their production didn't drop off at all.  It actually increased.

The Jacksonville Jaguars just released Gabe Davis

Today, the news came out that even though Davis signed a 3-year $39 million contract, the Jags have decided to part ways with him after a disappointing season.

It was easily his least productive season. He was coming off a 700-yard season in 2023 and an 800-yard season in 2022.

Should the Bills try to get Davis back?

I will be the first to say that I loved Davis when he was here.  I know that not everyone was a fan. But he seemed to come up big in some clutch moments for the Bills.  Many will remember the 13-second game against the Kansas City Chiefs, it was Davis who had one of the biggest games of his career, catching 3 touchdown passes on the night.

Should we try to get him back, though?

The Bills have been bringing a bunch of players back this year that they had to release last season, but this one just doesn't seem like something they're going to want to do.  Unless they can get him super cheap, is there a place for him on that roster?  Which receiver would you bump for Davis?  His numbers last year wouldn't warrant it.

I like Davis.  He has good chemistry with Allen.  But this one just doesn't seem like a move that Beane would be opening up the checkbook for.
