Things have not gone well for two of the Buffalo Bills' former wide receivers since they left the team for new cities.

Remember how it felt when we found out that the Buffalo Bills would be without their number 1 and 2 wide receivers for the 2024-2025 season?  I can tell you, for Bills fans, it felt hopeless.  While many said the Bills were going through a rebuild year, it felt like it.  They had just gotten rid of their starting center, cornerback, one of their starting safeties (the other was set to retire), and a list of other players.  Then we find out that Gabe Davis was going to another team through free agency and Stefon Diggs was being traded.

It felt like, "Who do we have left for Josh Allen to throw to?"

Looking back now, it looks as though the Bills made a good decision.  There's no way they could have known it would end up this way, but neither Diggs nor Davis will be finishing the year with their new teams.

Diggs was the first to go down

Stefon Diggs had a heartbreaking injury about three weeks ago following a game against the Indianapolis Colts that will keep him out for the rest of the year.  He tore his ACL.  It's a very difficult injury to return from, and for many, when they do return, they have a hard time playing at the same level ever again.

It's awful news for Diggs who is on a one-year deal with the Texans.  So not only will he not be able to finish with his new team, but it will be pretty hard to get a deal on another for next season.

Davis is the most recent to suffer a season-ending injury

Gabe Davis was next.  Last weekend Davis suffered a meniscus tear in his left knee. They had hoped that he might be able to simply have a small procedure to trim it (like what Harrison Butker from the Chiefs is doing) but it appears to be more severe than that.  He will be out for the year.

He has had a very underwhelming year so far in Jacksonville with just 20 catches for 239 yards and two touchdowns in 10 games.

The Bills are no strangers to devastating injuries though.  Here are some of the worst ones our team has had to endure in the last 24 years.
