What can you say?  For the second straight home game the Buffalo Bills registered a stinker.  In a game they were favored to win the Bills were just awful.  Two first downs and 78 yards in total offense in the first half pretty much tells the story.  In front of a television audience that most of the country got to see the Bills came up small in a 24-10 loss to the New York Giants.

And the penalties on this team?  Embarrassing.  17 penalties for 135 yards?  Outrageous.  But the Bills felt some of those were undeserved.  Nose tackle Kyle Williams hinted that because the Bills have a reputation as a tough team the officials may be looking for stuff to call.  Williams also said the Giants had a lot to do with drawing those penalties.

After the game coach Rex Ryan said he was proud of his team because they didn't back down and kept fighting.  He said he'd take that over a team that quits.  He acknowledged they made mistakes, there are problems with penalties, but vowed to fix it.

Giants quarterback Eli Manning at times looked like Patriots quarterback Tom Brady completing 20 of 35 passes for 212 yards and 3 touchdowns.  But give the Bills credit for limiting star receiver Odell Beckham, Jr. to just five receptions for 38 yards with the longest one going for nine yards.

For the Bills, with LeSean McCoy out of the lineup with an injury, rookie running back Karlos Williams started in his place and gained only 40 yards on 18 carries, but he did score his fourth touchdown in as many games on a 23-yard pass from Tyrod Taylor.  Taylor finished 28 of 42 for 274 yards with the one score and one interception.  But he was largely ineffective when the game was close.

Kicker Dan Carpenter again created concern when he missed a 30-yard field goal, but he did make a 51-yarder.  He may be back in Rex Ryan's doghouse again.

So the Bills drop to 2-2 on the season with a trip in Nashville to play the Tennessee Titans coming up next Sunday.
