Police have charged a man in a robbery spree in Erie County that targeted hotel clerks. The Buffalo man, 23-year-old Abdi Kadir, was indicted before Erie County Court Judge Suzanne Maxwell Barnes, according to Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn. He has been charged with 10 counts,

Nine counts of Robbery in the First Degree (Class “B” violent felony)
One count of Burglary in the First Degree (Class “C” violent felony)

For five days, starting on May 11, 2021, Kadir is accused of robbing hotel clerks across Erie County with a firearm.

May 11, 2021 - He allegedly forcibly stole cash from a hotel on Transit Road in Lancaster. He also robbed another hotel on Transit in Lancaster, stealing almost $750.

May 15, 2021 - Kadir allegedly robbed a hotel on Flint Road in Amherst with a black pistol, stealing approximately $400 in cash.

May 17, 2021 - The defendant allegedly used a gun to rob a hotel on Millersport Highway in Amherst, getting away with approximately $250. He is also accused to stealing the gun of a security guard, who was sitting in her vehicle at the time of the crime.

May 19, 2021 - Kadir allegedly targeted a hotel on Sheridan Drive in Tonawanda. Using his gun to forcibly rob the clerk, he stole approximately $400 in cash. Later that day, he allegedly robbed a wine store on Rhode Island Street in Buffalo, making off with $280 in cash. Even later that day, he allegedly robbed a hotel located on Sheridan Drive in Tonawanda, stealing a cell phone and a purse.

Kadir is being held without bail for a parole violation. He is due back in court on Thursday, January 20, 2022. He is facing a maximum of 30 years in prison if he is convicted on all charges against him.
