Buffalo Police Officer Stabbed During Traffic Stop

A Buffalo police officer was treated at the Erie County Medical Center for an injury to his arm after he was stabbed by a passenger in a car that had been pulled over in a traffic stop.  Officer Mark Johnson was treated and released.

One of the three men inside a car stopped on Michigan Avenue and East Ferry Street was chased after he fled from the car.  The man picked up a file in the road and slashed at the officer.

22-year old Davon Belcher is charged with assaulting a police officer, possession of a weapon and other charges.  The driver of the stopped vehicle and another passenger also face charges.
