Buffalo Sabres Enlist Bills Lineman To Pump Up Crowd
The Sabres were looking for a win last night against the Dallas Stars and they were willing to pull out all the stops to make it happen.
It hasn't been a great year so far for the Buffalo Sabres. Despite bringing back Lindy Ruff as the head coach, the team has only been able to snatch three wins this season. But with last night's win, they're on a 2-game win-streak.
They pulled out all the stops last night to get the crowd behind them too, including a little help from one of the Buffalo Bills.
Buffalo Bills offensive lineman Alec Anderson was there to help get the crowd into the game. He started off easy enough with the "Let's Go Buffalo!" chant that he was pounding out on the Sabres drum. He didn't seem to be getting the reaction he had hoped for though so he ripped off his Sabres sweater and gave it a go.
When that wasn't enough he took the next step and slammed a full beer.
Shirtless and covered in beer he turned to the crowd with raised arms and the crowd finally started to make some noise.
It's all part of the One Buffalo mantra that has been held by both the Bills and Sabres since both teams were owned by Terry and Kim Pegula. You'll often see Buffalo Bills at some of the games cheering on the Sabres and vice versa.
The Sabres will be back in the black and red jerseys for this weekend's game at Key Bank Center. They'll be taking on the Red Wings on Saturday.
