Tomorrow is the big day for the Buffalo Sabres and the rest of the NHL.

It's the start of free agency, which will begin promptly at noon EST on Wednesday, July 13th.

General manager Kevyn Adams has $32 million available in cap space, but there's little chance Buffalo will choose to spend that much. The salary cap floor is $61 million, which means the Sabres will need to spend $11 million between now and the start of training camp in September.

That figure will likely include qualifying offers, including Victor Olofsson, assuming he will be back with the Sabres.

But what will the team do when noon hits on Wednesday?

It's safe to assume that Adams and company don't break the bank for a player like Evgeni Malkin, Zazem Kadri, or Johnny Gaudreau, not that those players would want to come to a Sabres team, which is still rebuilding.

The Sabres still need a goaltender and could use a third and fourth-line player, who can help kill penalties. A right-handed defenseman is also a possibility.

I think Adams will pursue both forwards Andre Burakovsky and Mason Marchment, but in the end, I see both signing lofty contracts with better teams in 2022-2023, as that stigma for the Sabres still remains.

The Sabres will have a chance to land some players, however, and here are three I think they end up signing in free agency.
