The Buffalo Sabres scored all of their goals in the third period to win their preseason opener 3 to 1 last night at First Niagara Center.  Linemates Paul Gaustad, Nathan Gerbe and Patrick Kaleta all found the net to send the sell-out crowd home happy.

Gaustad scored just 47 seconds into the final 20 minutes to tie the game.  Less than four minutes later Gaustad set up Gerbe for what turned out to be the game winner.  Then it was Gerbe's pass that set Kaleta off with an empty net at the other end and he scored with just one second left.

It was a sellout crowd for the game - pretty unusual for a preseason game and the Sabres souvenir stands throughout the building were very busy with long lines just to get in.

The Sabres play in Monreal on Wednesday night.
