Buffalo Student Charged After Bringing Handgun To School

An unnamed student is no longer enrolled at Nichols High School after another student warned administrators that the student brought a handgun to school.

According to WIVB:

During a search, an unloaded revolver was found with bullets nearby in the student’s bookbag. School officials detained the student, recovered the revolver, and called Buffalo Police. Police say the 15-year-old will be charged as a minor with criminal possession of a weapon.

 

According to the school, the student is no longer enrolled there.

Officials with the school didn't give a reason as to why the student brought the weapon to school.
