I think it's very cool that there are businesses in Western New York like Cellino Plumbing & HVAC who are committed to supporting nonprofits in the community.

In fact, Cellino has made giving back a regular commitment. Every month, Cellino Plumbing & HVAC gives $500 to one deserving Western New York non-profit. After gathering submissions and having willing Western New Yorkers vote on the finalists, one organization is highlighted and selected to receive support from Cellino Plumbing & HVAC and, of course, from WYRK.

I recently got a chance to talk with Ron from The John Fiore Foundation, which has raised and donated more than $239,000 over 10 years in Ron's uncle's name. John Fiore served his country for 30 years in the U.S. Marine Corps and Air Force and was passionate locally about hosting and participating in fundraisers to help his community. After he died in the 2009 plane crash in Clarence, New York, his family and friends started the foundation to continue his work and legacy:

As you heard in the interview, The John Fiore Foundation focuses on helping veterans and children's organizations. Most recently, they've been focusing on those hit hardest by the economic fallout of the coronavirus pandemic.
