If you read my blog from earlier this week, then you knew that this was one show I was not going to miss. Cheap Trick played to a capacity crowd in Lewiston last night. It was a relief to see the band as they were almost killed in Ottawa a few days ago when their stage collapsed in a storm as they were performing. Thank God no one was hurt seriously. They even made a few comments last night of how great it is to be alive.

This was my first time seeing the band without legendary drummer Bun E. Carlos who is not touring at the present time due to some recent back surgeries. Rick Neilsen's son Dax played drums last night and as a drummer myself, I can tell you he did not disappoint. Dax was smiling continuously for the duration of the show. His constant energy and enthusiasm propelled the band throughout the show. I miss Bun behind the kit, but if there is one person who can do the perfect job of filling his shoes, it is Dax Neilsen. The band played a solid 90 minute show giving us Cheap Trick fans what we came to see and hear. After over 30 plus years, Cheap Trick continues to define the true meaning of Rock and Roll.
