A replica of the famous bar from the TV show "Cheers" will be permanently closing in Boston, MA.

CBS reports the bar operated for over 20 years in the Faneuil Hall Marketplace. It was designed to look exactly like the set of the famous television show, which aired from 1982 to 1993.

CEO Markus Ripperger told CBS News the pandemic and "lack of assistance from the landlord" lead to the decision to close the popular tourist destination.

The last day of business for Cheers will be August 30.

The original Cheers bar on Beacon Street that inspired the show will remain open.

• The show was originally supposed to be set in Barstow, CA, not Boston, MA.
• The original setting for the show wasn't a bar at all, it was supposed to be a hotel.
• Norm never got to drink a real beer on set, according to Buzzfeed, "It was "near beer," with an alcohol content of 3.2 percent, and a pinch of salt added so that the mug kept a foamy head under the hot studio lights."
