People are upset. The lyrics to the song are being called sexist and there are radio stations that have already banned the tune that you have heard for years and years. Is this absolutely ridiculous?
You know the song. It is a classic. 'Baby It's Cold Outside' was written by Frank Loesser in the 1940s. There are radio stations that have banned the song--starting back in 2018. The song was written at a different time. The song won the Academy Award for best song in 1950 and since then it has been a staple for your holiday soundtrack during this time of the year.
Now people are saying that the words are ridiculous and are getting upset. The lyrics may suggest a man's sexual advances on a woman. Does the song deserve to be banned?
"I've got to go away ... Hey, what's in this drink?", "The answer is no." are some of the lyrics that are in the song “Baby, It's Cold Outside”.
The world we live in is extra sensitive now, and people get easily offended, but in a world where #MeToo has finally given women the voice they deserve, the song has no place", said one Cleveland radio host a few years back according to NPR.
Radio stations all over have debated whether or not to ban the song from their Christmas playlist. What do you think?
