The Polish Cheesecake Donut Challenge had a clear and decisive winner: The ECMC Foundation and its efforts to build a top-line trauma center and ER!

With our friends at Market on the Square and help from you listeners, we were able to raise $12,306 — or $1 for each limited edition Polish Cheesecake Donut sold at Market on the Square — these past few months.

Dave and Clay had a friendly wager, too. Clay tried to convince listeners to buy donuts at the West Seneca location, while Dave had the North Tonawanda location. Clay took an early lead and just kept going!

So that means Dave, as the loser, needed to get a Polish Cheesecake Donut to the face. We brought in a special guest to do the honors — one who didn't stop at one donut.

All competition aside, we're both thrilled to partner with Market on the Square and the ECMC Foundation on this fundraiser. We love donuts, but we love the community more, and this money is going to help ECMC provide Western New York's only Level 1 Trauma Center and support a growing need — the old ER was designed to serve 45,000 patients but they are seeing as many as 70,000.

It's not too late for you to support this effort. The ECMC Foundation offers several ways to give, including a quick and easy online donation portal. And, with their online fundraising tool, no Polish Cheesecake Donuts have to be harmed!
