Cody Johnson performed in front of a sold out crowd in Buffalo, New York on Friday and was interrupted by a power outage near the start of the show!

The Key Bank Center was turned in to a massive honky tonk in downtown as over 13,000 fans filled the seats on a bitterly cold night in February. As Cody started to sing his hit "Me and My Kind", his microphone seemed to stop working.

It was what happened next that has everyone talking and shocked Cody!

As the crowd started to notice Johnson's microphone issue, they started to sing along, and got very loud! It was an incredible moment to witness. I have been to dozens of shows in my career, and to hear that kind of response from the fans, and the reaction by Cody, is now one of the highlights! It proved why so many country artists are putting Western New York on their tour calendar in 2025.

Cody took it like the professional that he is. "Did the power go out?", asked Johnson and went on to thank the crowd, and added that "we just proved this is live music".

It seemed as though Cody was pleasantly surprised how well the audience knew his music and the lyrics! After a brief outage, the microphone came back and it was hit after hit for 90 minutes!

Friday was truly a special night that was started with a last minute addition to the lineup. Lanie Gardner filled in as Drew Baldridge was in Nashville to accept an award.

Ashley McBryde put on an incredible show and proved why she is a member of the Grand Ole Ory and a Grammy Award winner! Her voice is pure and powerful and sounded off the charts inside the Key Bank Center!
