It will be a cold start to our Friday in Western New York, maybe the coldest we will have this winter. Temperatures around the 716 were in single digits or below zero to start the day, and won't be much warmer as the day goes on.

Cold Weather Advisory Is In Place For Western New York

With the cold temperatures across Western New York, a Cold Weather advisory is in place as we could see wind chills across the region drop to as low as -24 degrees.


Today's high is expected to only reach 10 degrees. The good news is that we will see a warmup, while not a massive one, heading into the weekend. Temperatures are expected to be in the mid-teens for Saturday and Sunday before leaping into the mid 20s for Monday and the rest of next week.

The cold weather is expected to roll right into the start of February as well. The long-range forecast from Accuweather is calling for sub-freezing weather for Western New York right through Valentine's Day. We are only expected to have 8 days of above-freezing weather in February this year.
