The BEST Place To Cool Off In New York State

When there is a heatwave in New York State, one location is much cooler and has one of the best views in the Northeast!

As we get to midweek, there will be some areas in New York State that will sizzle with temperatures in the mid 90s!

But if you want a family adventure that is worth the ride and cools you off fast, a trip to Whiteface Mountain is just what you need!

The forecast calls for the heat and humidity to rise! Some places in New York State will be under a heat advisory. However, at the peak of New York State's most famous mountain, it will be at least 10 degrees cooler!

High above the other Adirondack Mountains is the top of Whiteface Mountain and it is a perfect spot to enjoy a hot summer day. Not only is the view incredible, and there is peace and quiet, things are cooler there.

"Please note: The temperatures are at least 10 degrees colder at the summit than at the base. Sweatshirts or jackets are recommended".

Make sure you are aware of the fee to take the car to the top. There is a charge for the car and driver and ever other passenger as well. Kids under 6 can go to the summit in a car for free!

We took our four kids to the summit last August and it was considerably colder and foggy at the top the day we were there. It was certainly refreshing!
