1st Cruise Ship Ready to Set Sail From Buffalo, New York This Month

Cruises are going to start in Buffalo, New York this month, marking the first time that a major cruise line will be offering Buffalo, New York as a destination.

The first cruise is set to sail on May 22, 2026 on American Cruise Lines. There are 4 dates this summer that you can catch the cruise ship and book your vacation for Buffalo, New York:

The cruise ship itself is not massive. There are five decks but they will only be a few hundred people on the ship not a massive ship with thousands of people. What are the cities that The American Cruise Line ship will go to? Obviously it is in the Great lakes so it is limited to major cities along the lakes but includes stops at toledo, detroit, buffalo, and five other cities that are along Michigan and Ontario.

How expensive is the cruise that leaves from Buffalo, New York?

I'm a little shocked about how expensive it actually is to go on this cruise. First of all considering you're not really even in the Caribbean you are in the Great lakes but packages are floating around $8,000 if you want to go experience the Great lakes Cruise. Now, that doesn't include airfare for a bunch of the packages so maybe you will get a discount if you live at one of the ports.

It's a great new addition to Western New York and since we are already on the water why not revitalize some of the travel and use of the Erie Canal. Packages are now on sale if you want to buy vacation on the new cruise line that is cruising through Buffalo.

Have you ever been on a cruise before? I can't see if people are going to spend between 8 and 10,000 dollars to go on a cruise that they will do something like this rather than try and go somewhere a little bit warmer or somewhere they have never been before. It will be interesting to see the success of the new initiative.
