Looking for someone to cuddle up with this upcoming cuffing season? You’d better hurry, because the clock is ticking. 

Yup, “cuffing season” is still a thing here in the Upstate New York area. If you’ve been living under a rock these past few years, “cuffing season” is slang for the time of year when single mena and women begin to pair up so that they have someone to bear the chilly temperatures while cooped up indoors. Think lots of binge-watching, takeout, and an obscene amount of blankets on the couch. 

It’s not unheard of for couples that get together in time for “cuffing season” to make it past the cold fall and winter months and last the long haul, but to be honest, it’s pretty rare. More often than not, cuffing pairs typically have an expiration date of when the snow on the ground starts to melt. 

But if you’re down to cuddle up with someone short-term during New York State’s cold months, go for it! It’s definitely more fun to watch tons of TV and eat loads of Chinese food with someone curled up on the couch by your side.
