Fatal Stabbing In Albion
Orleans County sheriff’s investigators have arrested an illegal immigrant and charged him with the fatal stabbing of a woman at the Walmart store on Route 31 in Albion last night. Deputies say the suspect followed 45-year old Kathleetn Byham out of the store and stabbed her several times in what appears to be a random act. She died at Medina Memorial hospital.
Stabbing On The 190
In the Town of Tonawanda police are still trying to sort out the details after a motorist was stabbed several times by another motorist on the 190 north near the south Grand Island bridges. The victim is hospitalized and expected to survive. They’re looking for a tall, thin, older man driving a gold, four-door Dodge with a purple heart logo.
Batavia Family Homeless After Fire
Two adults and six children in Batavia are homeless after fire destroyed their home yesterday afternoon. A child playing with a lighter in a second floor bedroom started the fire. Everybody got out safely, but the house was completely destroyed.
Body Found In Depew
Police in Depew are investigating the death of a man found in a creek bed off Olmstead Avenue near Transit around noontime yesterday. An autopsy is scheduled for this morning.
Bumper Cars On Grand Island Bridge
Fog and slippery conditions caused 10 accidents on the south Grand Island bridge yesterday morning. The first happened around 7 am and continued for about an hour until the entire bridge was shut down to traffic for 90 minutes to get things cleaned up.
Collins Goes National In Accusation Against Poloncarz
Erie County Executive Chris Collins has gone national with allegations of ballot tampering. Collins appeared on Fox News yesterday to accuse his opponent Mark Poloncarz with orchestrating the scheme. Nearly a dozen absentee ballots mailed to voters in Lackawanna were already filled in for Collins. Poloncarz did not appear on Fox, but his campaign spokesman denied they were involved.
