What is the most common street name in the U.S.?

Would you guess Main Street?  How about Maple Street?  Or Pine Street?

The U-S Census  Bureau says the most common street name in the United States is Second Street!  That’s probably because there are so many different names for what would be First Street – Main Street, Center Street, State Street.

So Second Street is the most popular street name, Third Street is second and First Street is third.  Fourth Street is fourth, followed by Park Street, then Fifth Street.  Main Street doesn’t show up until seventh place.  Then it’s Sixth and Seventh Streets and the first street named after a tree finally shows up – Oak Street.

Among streets named after trees, following Oak, it’s Pine, Maple, Cedar and Elm.

There are some unusual street names in the country and you can verify them by doing a Google search.

Nantucket, Massachusetts be watching for Where O Where Drive.

In Deer Lodge, Montana you’ll find Pickle Dog Lane.
