A fight broke out at one of Western New York’s favorite concert venues, and it has sparked safety concerns.

It seemed like your typical Darien Lake concert. The venue was filling up, people were scanning their tickets, tailgaters were having fun in the parking lot.

The Facebook page for Darien Lake Amphitheater put out a warning ahead of time, attempting to guide concertgoers on when the best time would be to arrive at the concert venue.

“We are expecting large crowds for Pitbull with heavy concert traffic.” Darien Lake Amphitheater wrote on Facebook, suggesting for patrons to arrive early, with parking lots open at 3:30 PM, gates open at 6:30 PM, with an expected start time for the Pitbull concert approximately 8:00 PM.

It was a fun night of music with Mr. Worldwide, but before anyone even made their way out of the parking lot, tensions were high and a fight broke out.

It wasn’t just any fight, either. In total, the police scanner indicated that the fight was large enough to include at least 150 to 200 people.

Law enforcement agencies were called in around 8 PM to help control the large fight in the parking lot at Darien Lake.

The reason for the fights is not currently known, but law enforcement was able to gain control of the situation.

Mercy Flight was on standby during the incident in the event of serious injury. We are unsure at the time what the extent of those injuries are at this time.

We will update you as soon as the official press release is made public.
