Darien Lake Announces New “Rule” + Parents are MAD
Parents are MAD about this new rule that has been posted at Six Flags Darien Lake over the weekend. The park opened up for the season this past Friday and a lot of people noticed a new policy that has a lot of people up in arms.
There is a new "Chaperone Policy" that Darien Lake has posted all over the park that reads:
All guests aged 17 years of age or younger must be accompanied by a chaperone who is at least 21 years of age or older to be admitted into or remain in the park".
Each "adult chaperone" is allowed to be 'in charge' of 5 guests under the age of 17.
Darien Lake has had some problems and that is why they are making this change, but a lot of 'kids' either get dropped off and hang out there during the summers. High School kids would go there all the time who might be 16 or 17 years old for the day.
Parents were super mad on Facebook:
Most of the money they make there comes from teenagers, which can no longer enter the park without a parent, that is probably working or doing other ADULT things.
Melissa also makes a great point as well:
.. but you can be 14 to work there ... doesn't make sense. They are going to lose a lot of business
Obviously, there is a problem with young kids causing a problem or disruption to the park, so what is the best solution? On the other hand, you have families who DO NOT want to go to the park because there are kids all over the park that are being unsupervised. What do you think? You can check out what the post said below.
