Former Player: Bills Player Should’ve Been Thrown Out of the Game
The Buffalo Bills are moving on to the divisional round of the NFL playoffs, but not without some years lost for Bills fans.
Even though Buffalo was favored by almost two touchdowns over the Miami Dolphins at Highmark Stadium on Sunday afternoon, the Dolphins gave the Bills a run for their money; overcoming a 17-point deficit and narrowly losing, 34-31.
The Bills still had over 400 yards of total offense and outgained the Dolphins by almost 200 yards, but it was the costly turnovers committed by Bills quarterback Josh Allen that proved to be the reason why the game was so close.
One of those Allen turnovers came on a long pass to John Brown, which was intercepted by Dolphins cornerback Xavien Howard.
After the interception, Allen and Dolphins defensive tackle Christian Wilkins got into a shoving match and that's when a scuffle erupted between Wilkins and the Bills offensive line, most notably Mitch Morse and Spencer Brown.
However, a former NFL player said on Twitter that Brown should have been ejected from the game.
Former Patriots and Cols defensive back Darius Butler, who is now in media, tweeted that Spencer Brown's actions towards Wilkins should have gotten him ejected.
Here's what Butler was referencing. Brown hits the back of Wilkins' helmet while he was on the ground.
The only penalties on the play were to Morse and Wilkins, which off-set. No other fouls were called, despite all of this happening.
I noticed the game got too chippy, especially into the second half. It feels like the officials let them play and put away the whistles for this playoff game, which may have contributed to the heated tempers from both sides.
