Deer season is here! It officially begins at daybreak on Saturday and there are few things that the NYS DEC wants to remind you.

I am very excited for the chance to get back to the woods this weekend. My buddies and I will be hunting our favorite spots and tree-stands this weekend. If you plan to hunt and get a deer this weekend, there are a few places you can take your deer for the DEC to look at.

According to HuntFishNYOutdoors.com:

DEC's Region 9 check station, located on Route 16, in Holland, Erie County (northbound about one mile south of the town of Holland), will operate Saturday, Nov. 16, from noon until 8 p.m., and Sunday, Nov. 17, from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. Participation is voluntary and helps DEC gather valuable data to assess the status of the area's big game population.

Have a great time this weekend and best of luck to you!
