Did a Steelers Coach Just Give Bills QB Josh Allen a Warning?
We're less than 72 hours away from the Buffalo Bills kicking off their 2021 regular season. The Bills host the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday afternoon at 1 pm at Highmark Stadium on what should be a gorgeous and electric day for football in Orchard Park.
Players and coaches have been meeting with the media over the past few days leading up to the opener, and one Steelers coach had comments that raised some eyebrows, especially with Bills fans.
Keith Butler is entering his seventh season as the defensive coordinator for the Steelers. He spoke with the media Thursday afternoon and talked about Josh Allen's running ability.
When asked about Allen's ability to finish runs like a running back, Butler said he hopes Allen does so because he will be "treated like a running back."

This is from Tim Benz of the Tribune-ReviewSports columnists and NFL reporter.
Butler added that when any player has the ball they are a target for the defense and that there's a "price to pay."

Allen's running style has been smarter over the last year and certainly has been evident in camp and the preseason game against the Green Bay Packers. I'm sure Bills offensive coordinator Brian Daboll and quarterbacks coach Ken Dorsey have gotten Allen to run less and rely on his passing game.
Obviously, if it's there with an open field, Allen should run, but Allen definitely should be picky about when he takes off to run this season.
