Finally we enjoyed some sunshine and warm weather in Western New York yesterday.  When I was on the air I had to take a double take when I saw 80 degrees and sure enough that’s what the thermometer read.  It was nice to get outside and take a walk last night after I got home from work.  It seemed like everyone in my neighborhood had the same idea too.  I saw so many people walking their dogs, jogging and playing softball in the park.  It was an awesome site.  I walked several blocks around the neighborhood enjoying the dry evening.

As I passed by many homes I noticed the standing water in some of the yards around my neighborhood.  A lot of us are in the same boat having saturated yards.  Mine is so soggy it would be tough to mow it anytime soon so hope we get a few more dry days.  I tried picking up a few sticks and branches that had fallen in the yard after the heavy winds a few days ago and boy did I get muddy doing so.  Unfortunately the yard is looking a bit overgrown but there is nothing I can do until it’s dry.  I’m going to do my best not to think about it, I tend to be a bit obsessive when the yard starts looking the way it does now.  Can’t wait to start planting flowers and setting out my patio furniture.  I’m so ready for summer.
