Most of New York state is soaking up some major heat this week, and soon we will be soaking up some rain to go with it.

Severe Thunderstorm Watch Issued For Parts Of New York

It will continue until 11 PM Wenesday night.

We will still see the heat continue too

Normally, when we see storms rolling in, it means that the heat and humidity are about to go with it. That doesn't seem to be the case this week. We've already seen temps into the 90s through much of the week, and that is likely going to continue. As of right now, the highs look like they will remain in the mid 80's throughout the rest of the week and into the beginning of next week.

Rain is a good thing

Every year it feels like we have to remind ourselves that this is the weather that we wait for all winter long. It is definitely warm, but after living for months in temps that were just above the 20's (or below in some cases), it feels like we should be embracing this warm weather.

Also, it's these soaking rains that farmers depend on to grow our food locally. It might put a bit of a damper on our 4th of July plans, but it's also what helps to provide fresh fruits and vegetables in Western New York.
