The COVID pandemic may be coming to an end. The Governor of New York State announced that the mask mandates for kids in school will be done as of March 2 and many event centers are lifting their COVID vaccine mandates as well. But as thing slow down on the COVID front, Erie County wants to remind you that the flu is still a threat.

The COVID-19 pandemic and everything that came with it seems to have taken the spotlight and perhaps the masks that people wore helped to keep the spread of the flu down. But if you are on the fence about getting a flu shot, there may be an added bonus for you. In a Tweet about the flu vaccine, health officials have mention the heart benefits of a flu shot.

The President is about to give his State of the Union address this Tuesday at 9pm and even the congress has been told that the mask will be optional. That is a big move forward toward the end of this pandemic. Like most other medical things, if you have questions you are encouraged to contact your doctor.
