With a majority of town firework shows canceled this year due to COVID-19, the Erie County Sheriff's office offered some warnings for people using fireworks at their home.

Somethings to remember is that most fireworks are still illegal in New York State. Some are legal like sparklers and smoke bombs but anything that leaves the ground is illegal.

Also, the sheriff warned against letting children use sparklers since the high heat of the device could cause the child to get burned.

There will be no major fireworks displays still taking place in WNY this Saturday.
