Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announced that a 22-year-old Buffalo man has been sentenced to prison for a deadly shooting on Floss Avenue in the city. On December 15, 2021, the defendant pleaded guilty to one count of Manslaughter in the First Degree. The man was sentenced yesterday, March 21, 2022, by Erie County Court Judge James Bargnesi. During the investigation, the defendant knowingly gave a fake name to investigators. Tony S. Golden will spend 25 years behind bars. Upon his release from prison, he will spend 5 years on post-release supervision.

The deadly shooting took place on December 20, 2019, around 3:30 pm on Floss Avenue in Buffalo. Golden shot 22-year-old Vincent Cramer multiple times using an illegal firearm. The victim died from his wounds.

There have been at least 24 shooting incidents, both fatal and non-fatal, in Buffalo since January 1. That's an average of one per day. In 2021 there were at least 57 fatal shootings in the city. Thankfully, the District Attorney's Office is solving some of the murders, but there are still many that are unsolved. The families and friends of the victims deserve to have closure and get justice for the loss of their loved ones.
