Thousands Of Fans At Concert Cause Small Earthquake

Fans were having a really good time this weekend at a Garth Brooks concert, so much fun that their noise caused a small earthquake.

Garth Brooks perform in Tiger Stadium on the campus of LSU and made history as the second time ever that an earthquake was recorded by local seismographs just from the yelling and cheering of fans in the stadium.

Over 100,000 people were at the stadium making the concert the largest concert in North America since the COVID-19 pandemic and according to Brooks the 2nd largest in North American history behind only George Strait's 2014 farewell concert at the AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas.

The "earthquake" was recorded as Brooks sang his hit song "Calling Baton Rouge" which of course is the home city of LSU.

Brooks' tour continues later this week on the campus of Norte Dame before heading to Cincinnati and then to Boston. That seems like the closest Garth will be coming to Western New York. His other shows will be in Charlotte, NC, and Birmingham, AL as well as Salt Lake City, UT.
