As we go over the river and through the woods this Thanksgiving, the snow is about to fly in New York State.

Are you prepared? Ready for snow and ice? There are some who are saying that the models are predicting multiple feet of snow east of the Great Lakes in the next few days.

But will it happen? Will we get the snow that some say will impact traveling this Holiday?

Predicting lake effect snow is tricky. The forecasters and meteorologists remained uncertain at the start of the week about where, when and how much snow that the lakes will produce.

But if we get the right winds and temps, the lakes are primed for lots of snowfall!

According to the NWS in Buffalo, the lake temps are in the 50's!

So prepared and get ready for lots of snow IF the winds align over the lakes. A lake effect snow WATCH was issued early on Tuesday that called for more than 7 inches of heavy lake effect snowfall!
