Half way thru the Chase for the Sprint Cup Championship Jimmie Johnson, Dale Earnhardt, Jr. and Brad Keselowski are in serious jeopardy of being eliminated from the next round of the Chase. Kevin Harvick did advance with Saturday night’s victory at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Harvick had the dominant car and was able to hold off the rest of the field in a two lap restart at the end of the race to win his third race of the season and 26th of his career. Harvick’s victory ended a streak of five races where he led the most laps, but came in second.

Jeff Gordon finished second half a second behind Harvick with Jamie McMurray, Joey Logano and Kyle Busch completing the Top 5.

There was more than fireworks in the skies above Charlotte Motor Speedway after the race. Matt Kenseth jumped Keselowski as he walked between two trailers in retaliation for what happened on the track during the cool down lap. Keselowski rammed into the rear of Denny Hamlin’s car then crumpled Kenseth’s car. After Tony Stewart’s car was struck, Stewart backed into Keselowski’s car.

After trading insults in the garage, Kenseth and Keselowski had to be separated from a pushing and shoving match.

So with Talladega next up on the schedule, Kenseth, Keselowski, Earnhardt and Johnson will likely have to win next week to advance and avoid elimination.
