There have been 23 points races so far in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series season and Kevin Harvick has won nearly a third of those races.  Sunday at Michigan International Speedway it was yet another dominating day for Harvick as he led 108 of 200 laps and claimed all three stages of the Consumers Energy 400.

Even with an overheated engine over the final 10 laps, Harvick had a sizeable enough lead to hold on for a more than 3-second win over second place Brad Keselowski.  Harvick celebrated his victory with his 6-year old son Keelan holding the checkered flag from inside the winning race car as Harvick too his victory lap.

The victory is the second at Michigan for Harvick and the 44th of his career to place him in a tie with Hall of Famer Bill Elliott for 17th place all-time.  With the win Harvick takes over the lead in playoff points lead from Kyle Busch with three races left until the playoffs.

Kyle Busch, Austin Dillon and Ryan Blaney completed the Top 5.

Saturday night racing from Bristol is up next on the schedule.
