Has It Really Come To This – Kevlar Backpacks?

Chances are, you’re already thinking about Back to School.  Whether it’s because you’re ready to get the kids out of the house, or you’re starting to think about the list of stuff you’re going to have to buy, Back To School is huge.  This year, it's a sad to hear that one of the big sellers for this year's back-to-school sales is…bulletproof backpacks!

It’s no joke.  They’re on the shelves at Kmart, Office Depot, and OfficeMax.

The bags, which range in price from $120 to $300, are made of a material similar to Kevlar. They look pretty much like regular backpacks but have a "soft armor panel" sewn in that can stop a 9mm or .44 round.

There are a lot of things in my kids’ lives where I think, “wow…how easy do they have it??  We never had it that easy.

But man…I wouldn’t want to be them on this one.  We never had to worry about whether or not our backpacks would stop a bullet.
