While a lot of Bills fans are still trying to come to terms with the fact that Sean McDermott is no longer the head coach of the Buffalo Bills, the search for his replacement has begun. So who are the most likely candidates to replace him?

Whether we like the move or not, the Bills are moving on from Sean McDermott. The deed is done, and now it's time to move on. The Bills have already lined up a list of candidates that they would like to interview, with the hope of hiring one of them to be the next head coach of the Buffalo Bills.

Will they go offensive or defensive?

Most coaches come up through the ranks, and they are labeled as being either offensive or defensively minded. For example, Sean McDermott was a defensive head coach. His background has been based on his time coaching defense. Rex Ryan was also a defensive head coach. Chan Gailey, on the other hand, was an offensive coach.

They haven't given any clue of what they're looking for. Essentially, they've just said they're looking for someone to take the Bills to the next level.

There are two ways to look at this. If you choose an offensive head coach who is really good, as long as you have Josh Allen, you shouldn't have to worry about how good the defense is. If you can put up 40 points on everyone, you should win every time.

However, if you already have Josh Allen and he puts up 25-30 points, then you hire a defensive head coach that can shut teams down, again, you should win every time.

Should they go experienced, or up-and-coming

The next debate is whether they should go with someone who is experienced at being a head coach, or give someone a shot who might be a little green, but could be the next big thing.
I'm kind of leaning towards the up-and-coming coach at this point. Give me a fresh mind who thinks of doing things a little differently. I like aggressive. But I also like smart.

Regardless, they have to get this pick right. It's going to be awful hard to sell tickets to a new stadium if the team isn't any good.
